Workplace bullying and job-related stress
I spent twenty years in international business, working for small
start-ups as well as Fortune 500
companies, before becoming a psychotherapist. So I have insider
knowledge of the corporate world and the pressures it can exert. I help
professional clients with a variety of career goals, including achieving
better work-life balance, identifying limiting beliefs and other blocks
to success, and working toward career change.
Bullying, Harassment and Discrimination I also work with clients facing issues of workplace bullying, harassment and discrimination. These issues are extremely serious, and they can happen at any level of an organization. I can't help with the legal side, but I can help you cope with the incredibly pervasive negative influence these things can have on your self esteem, your sense of agency, and your ability to properly protect yourself. I can also help you to map out what you need to do to respond to the situation, and work out how you can best re-take charge of your life. Some Additional Information on Work and Stress For an article I published in New Therapist magazine on this subject, click here. The dangers of not taking enough vacation are described in this Business Week article. Some of the effects of stress are listed in this article from the Mayo Clinic.
