Jungian, imaginal, geneological, Gestalt, EMDR
I believe the goal of therapy is to realistically become who you truly are--not to fix you, or tell you how to be. If you work with me, we'll look at your personal, family and cultural history, and the beliefs you hold about yourself and the world. Where we find traumas, disturbing memories, negative beliefs and uncomfortable feelings, we can use a variety of methods to loosen then, learn from them and heal them, including EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and dreamwork.
Therapy is available in English and in French, and with long distance clients I work over Skype. As a therapist, I draw on my own life experience, as well as my training:

"I call the high and light aspects of my being spirit and the dark and heavy aspects soul. Soul is at home in the deep, shaded valleys. Heavy torpid flowers saturated with black grow there. The rivers flow like warm syrup. They empty into huge oceans of soul. Spirit is a land of high, white peaks and glittering jewel-like lakes and flowers. Life is sparse and sounds travel great distances." - Tenzin Gyatso, the Dalai Lama I also draw on wisdom from multiple cultural traditions, including the French fields of psycho-généalogie, and ethno-psychiatrie, the emerging field of Liberation Psychology, the ancestor work of West-African teacher Sobonfu Some, the eco-philosophy and social critique of Derrick Jensen, the writings of Gloria Anzaldua, and the Buddhist teachings of Pema Chodron.
I am a member of the core faculty at the California Institute for Integral Studies (CIIS), in San Francisco, and a trainer at the Marina Counseling Center and the Community Institute for Psychotherapy. |
