I believe the goal of therapy is to realistically become who you truly are--not to fix you, or tell you how to be. If you work with me, we'll look at your personal, family and cultural history, and the beliefs you hold about yourself and the world. Where we find traumas, disturbing memories, negative beliefs and uncomfortable feelings, we can use a variety of methods to loosen then, learn from them and heal them, including EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and dreamwork.

As a therapist, I draw on my own life experience, as well as my training:
- MA in Counseling Psychology, from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Pacifica teaches Imaginal Psychology; a Jungian-influenced school of psychotherapy, which considers psychotherapy to be essentially about restoring the soul.
- Jungian orientation--I have studied at the CG Jung Institute of San Francisco.
- EMDR--this is a very effective and practical technique for resolving traumatic memories.
- Somatic Experiencing--I am currently studying Somatic Experiencing, which is a specific model of somatic-oriented therapy for treating trauma at the level of the nervous system.
- Up to the minute research on the brain and attachment, which explains scientifically what's going on inside us, and how therapy can help us evolve beyond our habitual ways of being.
- Dream work--dreams provide a bridge between the mind and the body, and show what the psyche is 'chewing on'. I have studied Advanced DreamTending, with Dr Stephen Aizenstat, at Pacifica Graduate Institute, and I have studied dreams at the CG Jung Institute of San Francisco.
- Expressive arts: using process art, collage and writing to work through issues in therapy.
- T-Group facilitation, at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
- Gestalt I have over 200 hours of Gestalt psychotherapy training, with Gestalt Associates Training, Los Angeles.
- Couples therapy, with Dr Daniel Wile.
